Abstract
This document describes an innovative educational experiment in the form of a hackathon, aimed at teaching preliminary product design using generative AI. The goal is to guide students through a design process, from need expression to concept exploration. The hackathon is conducted in two phases: first, students are divided into groups to perform functional analysis or concept exploration, with some groups using generative AI and others not. Then, the results are compared through a questionnaire to evaluate the effectiveness of the methods and the impact of generative AI. The document includes the topics covered and statistical analyses of the results.
